A liquid crystal display device is provided to prevent moment after image and to ensure fast response speed and wide-viewing angle by comprising a biaxial liquid crystal. A liquid crystal display device comprises a first display panel including a pixel electrode; a second display panel facing the first display panel; and a liquid crystal compound containing the liquid crystal represented by chemical formula 1, which is interposed between the first and the second display panel. In chemical formula 1, A is phenyl, biphenyl, and terphenyl or naphthalenic compound; C and C' are independently one selected from the group consisting of COO-, -OOC-, -CF2O-, and -OF2C-; and D and D' are independently one selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by chemical formula 2 and a compound represented by chemical formula 3.
