<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method, which is suitably used for manufacturing of a PSA (polymer-sustained alighment) type transflective liquid crystal display device, and can suitably perform formation of a polymer structure in a reflecting area. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing liquid crystal display device includes the steps of preparing a first substrate 10 having a reflecting layer 12r provided in an area corresponding to a reflecting area R and a second substrate 20 having a color filter 22 provided in an area corresponding to both a transmitting area T and the reflecting area R; producing a liquid crystal display panel 100a including a polymerizable composition in a liquid crystal layer 30 by use of the prepared first substrate 10 and second substrate 20; and polymerizing the polymerizable composition in the liquid crystal layer 30 by irradiating the liquid crystal layer 30 of the liquid crystal display panel 100a to thereby form a polymer structure 32. The color filter 22 of the second substrate 20 has at least one opening 22a in the area corresponding to the reflecting area R, and the step of forming the polymer structure 32 is executed by emitting light to the liquid crystal layer 30 from both the first substrate 10 side and the second substrate 20 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
