<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector, capable of performing composition of modulated lights by a three-dimensional structure while matching the luminous flux sectional shapes of the modulated lights to each other by making illuminating light of each color incident on each liquid crystal panel while matching one the luminous flux sectional shape with the other luminous flux sectional shapes. <P>SOLUTION: A first toric lens 25a compresses the luminous flux sectional shape of B-light at a predetermined magnification in a direction parallel to a reference plane or in y-direction when it is incident on a composite prism 30, and a second toric lens 25b compresses the luminous flux section of a composite light CL including G-light and R-light at a predetermined magnification in z-direction. Accordingly, the luminous flux sectional shapes of B-light, G-light and R-light are deformed respectively in conformity to the shape of an illuminated area provided on each of liquid crystal panels 40a, 40b and 40c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
