PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a power transmission for traveling at a rotating speed advantageous to a fuel consumption characteristic, by optimally changing the gear ratio of a vehicular automatic transmission when the degree of change in a combustion state of an engine is different. SOLUTION: When a change is caused in the combustion state of the engine different in the fuel consumption state due to a change in the content of bioethanol in gasoline fuel in a tank by mixing-in of the bioethanol different from ordinary gasoline fuel, the gear ratio of the vehicular automatic transmission is changed so that an operation point of the engine can approach an optimal point of the fuel consumption characteristic in response to the degree of the change in its combustion state.
