PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for erecting a panel, which can shorten construction time by facilitating erection in the lifting of the panel so as to shorten processing time therefor. SOLUTION: This panel erecting device 1 for erecting the panel P includes: a placing board 3 in an L-shape in a side view, which is composed of a placing board body 8 for flatly piling the panels P on the side of a surface 8a, and a holding plate 9 provided on the one-end side of the placing board body 8 so as to hold an end surface of the panel P; a rotating means 4 which makes the placing board body 8 erected by turning the placing board 3 by an angle of approximate 90°in such a manner that a joint between the placing body 8 and the holding plate 9 serves as a supporting point, from the state of almost horizontally laying the placing board body 8 in the state of directing its surface 8a upward, and which makes the placing board body 8 pulled down from that state, so as to bring it down in an almost horizontally laid state; and a column 5 which is arranged in a position near the surface in such a manner as to face the surface 8a of the placing board body 8, when the placing board body 8 is erected.
