PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which can dispense with the work of a user for setting to an adjustment mode, and to provide a method for adjusting the image recorder and a program. SOLUTION: The image recorder 1 includes at least a side end detecting part controlling part 17 for determining whether or not performing adjustment for detection of a side end of a recording medium by a recording medium side end detecting part 9, on the basis of a history of recording processing for previous recording medium, and performing the adjustment according to the determination result.
