PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a single apparatus to execute a plurality of functions required in hospital and use a user-friendly console. SOLUTION: When a console 20, 30 or 40 connected to an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus body 10 is replaced, the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus body 10 is operated in an operation mode according to the type of the console 20, 30 or 40 connected thereto. This constitution allows the single apparatus to execute a plurality of functions required in the hospital so as to improve the cost performance.
