Procedure for producing carotenoid-solutions in an edible oil, comprises: (i) providing a carotenoid suspension in the oil; (ii) continuously heating a stream of suspension in an edible oil to obtain a hot carotenoid-solution; and (iii) cooling the hot carotenoid-solution, where the heating in step (ii) comprises introducing hot vapor into the stream of the suspension in the oil.
