PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing zeolite which does not necessarily require use of expensive materials and can easily produce zeolite having an average particle diameter of≤1μm. SOLUTION: The method for producing zeolite includes a clear solution preparing step of preparing a clear solution which is a transparent aqueous solution containing an alkali metal silicate compound, sodium aluminate and an alkali metal hydroxide, and a crystallization step of crystallizing the prepared clear solution. The aqueous solution (clear solution) containing the compounds in such a molar composition ratio as not to produce hydrogel is prepared and the aqueous solution is crystallized by a method such as an autoclave or reflux method, whereby the objective zeolite having an average particle diameter of≤1μm can be obtained.
