PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device and the like enabling a user to clearly recognize, even when facilities and the like are crowding on a map, the number of the facilities and location of each facility. SOLUTION: The map display device displays, on the basis of drawing data for drawing a map and icon data for drawing an icon indicating a facility to be displayed on the map and including the position coordinates of the facility, a map containing the icon on a display means. The map display device comprises: a determination means for determining the overlapping state of a plurality of icons being displayed on the map on the basis of the position coordinates; an operation means operated by the user so as to arrange a plurality of different icons without overlapping each other; and a display control means for displaying, on the basis of the determination result by the determination means and the operation by the operation means, the plurality of icons on the display means in such a manner as not to overlap each other by automatically shifting the position of the plurality of different icons.
