PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image reproduction apparatus which is capable of more suitably handling chapter data relating to moving image data. SOLUTION: The moving image reproduction apparatus includes a moving image data input means, a first chapter data input means for inputting first chapter data for moving image data, a chapter management means for managing chapters of moving image data, a skip designation means for inputting a skip indication, a skip position acquisition means for acquiring a skip position on the basis of chapters managed by the chapter management means, a playback control means for playing back moving image data and skipping a playback position, and a display means for displaying a video image of played back moving image data or an image relating to chapters of moving image data. The display means displays a list of moving image data capable of being played back by the playback control means and displays an icon on an item position of moving image data wherein the first chapter data is determined to be effective, in the list display.
