PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal corrosion rate measuring method capable of acquiring uniform results, without depending on human subjectivity. SOLUTION: The metal corrosion rate measuring method includes a step of photographing a region which includes a set of pixels, expressing the primary colors of R (red), G (green), and B (blue) in a plurality of stages of gradation; a step of polarizing the region, including the metal member into a region of the metal member and a region outside the metal member and generating a polarized numeric image; a step of excluding the region of pixels, outside the metal member of the polarized numeric image, from the taken image of the surface of the metal member; a step of comparing the gradation differences of the primary colors of R, G, and B of pixels of an image for analysis and classifying them into a plurality of identification codes; and a step of classifying pixels, classified into the plurality of identification codes into a normal section, a rusted section, and an eroded section. corrosion rate is measured, on the basis of ratios of the pixels classified into the normal section, the rusted section, and the eroded section.
