PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector for cables, which has an electrical connection structure wherein the amount of soldering between a contact and a terminal conductor is appropriate to prevent buckling of the contact and to improve strength of a plug connector as well. SOLUTION: The electrical connector 1 comprises at least a contact 5 for connecting to a conductive terminal by soldering, an insulator 6 which integrally supports a plurality of contacts that are provided side by side, and a solder bar 7 placed at a soldering part of the contact. The contact 5 is bent at a base part 5b and, through a straight part 5c sliding on the contact of the other engagement connection side, bent substantially in a rectangular shape toward the opposite side of a connection sliding surface 5d of the straight part 5c, with an end part 5e at the bending tip positioned near a bending part 5f of the base part 5b. A gap 10 generated between a roundly curved part surface 5g at the bending part 5f of the base part 5b of the contact and an end part face 5h of the bending tip is used for preventing solder wickings.
