PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To issue a proper alarm to a driver, irrespective of a change of an optical environment. SOLUTION: An ECU 20 detects a face area from a transmitted face image, in every transmission of the face image taken by a camera 10 to an ECU 20, corrects an exposure time to bring the optimum lightness for determining a direction of a face and an eye condition in a detected face area, and informs the camera of the corrected exposure time, the camera 10 photographs the face of the driver at the informed exposure time. The ECU analyzes periodically the face image taken at the optimum lightness, determines the presence of dangerous driving of the driver, and issues the alarm when the driver is under the dangerous driving.
