PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor material lying method capable of preventing the shift of a floor material in taking a step into a decorative floor surface from an entrance, and facilitating construction, and a floor material shift preventing implement used in floor material lying method. SOLUTION: In this floor material lying method, a plurality of floor materials including a floor material body and a leg extended downward from the floor material body to form a gap between the floor material body and the lying surface are placed and arranged on a lying surface adjacent to an entrance of a building in a state of being connected to the adjacent floor material through a connecting means. The floor material shift preventing implement having a fixed surface fixed to the lying surface direct under the floor material body and a floor material locking part having a height to enter the gap with the fixed surface fixed to the lying surface is fixed to the lying surface so that the floor material locking part is in contact with the surface at the opposite side to the entrance of the leg of the floor material placed in a part adjacent to the entrance.
