PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck, capable of securely retaining workpieces of different surface forms to be able to cope with a plurality of workpieces of different surface forms by a single chuck, and a method for manufacturing a timepiece, capable of reducing the number of chucks to lower the cost, and shortening adjusting time to improve productivity. SOLUTION: In the chuck 1, a tip surface 4a of a suction part 4 having air permeability is abutted on the workpiece X, and air is sucked from the base end side of the suction part 4 to suck the chack to the tip surface of the suction part.
