PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment wherein content can be handled as the same as much as possible even if the format is different, just as long as the content is the same. SOLUTION: An information processing system includes management information for managing an ID of audio data having a format having common playback contents for each content. When content data are required for content playback or the like, audio content data having sound contents to be played back are searched from a local and a network by using the ID of the audio data in the management information.
