PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic signal measuring instrument and a magnetic signal measuring method for accurately measuring a magnetic signal from an objective sample by removing the effect of magnetic signals from adjacent samples which occurs, when a multitude of samples are densely disposed. SOLUTION: In this magnetic signal measuring instrument 10, samples 8a to 8f each containing magnetic particles bonded to a measured substance are disposed at prescribed intervals to apply magnetic fields of certain intensity in a prescribed direction to a test sample selected from among them and to adjacent samples adjacent to the test sample by using electromagnets 5a to 5c, and magnetic signals from the respective samples thus magnetized are measured by a magnetic sensor 6. After the magnetic fields are applied in the same directions to the test sample and to the adjacent samples, the magnetic signals from the respective samples are measured to find a first signal waveform. After the magnetic fields are applied to the test sample and to the adjacent samples with only the directions changed of the magnetic fields applied to the test sample, the magnetic signals from the respective samples are measured to find a second signal waveform. A difference signal waveform between the first and second waveforms is found, thereby detecting the measured substance contained in the test sample. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
