PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser element for controlling the deterioration of a manufacturing yield while suppressing an increase of the number of manufacturing steps. SOLUTION: In this double-wavelength semiconductor laser element 1 (semiconductor laser element), a red-color laser element part 3 includes ridges 3a, 3b, and 3c having different ridge widths, while an infra-red laser element part 4 includes ridges 4a, 4b, and 4c having different ridge widths. Three pairs of ridges 6a, 6b, and 6c are formed of three ridges 3a, 3b, and 3c of the red-color laser element part 3 and three ridges 4a, 4b, and 4c of the infra-red laser element part 4, respectively. In each pair of ridges 6a, 6b, and 6c, the ridges 6a, 6b, and 6c are arranged to provide equal center-to-center distances (W31, W32, W33) and only one pair of ridges 6b function as current paths.
