PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blue-light emitting polyimide useful for a light-emitting layer material in a polymer type organic EL element. SOLUTION: The blue-light emitting polyimide has an anthracene group derived from a 2,3-anthracene carboxylic acid anhydride or an anthryl group derived from 1-, 2- or 9-aminoanthracene at a terminal end of a polyimide. When the polyimide is formed, for example, into a film shape, it emits strong blue light, has a high glass transition temperature and a sufficient film toughness. Therefore, it can be preferably used as a polymer thin film or the like suitable for a blue-light emitting layer material in an organic EL element. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
