PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of jam within a sheet conveying passage by contriving the shape of the sheet conveying passage to smoothly convey a sheet. SOLUTION: In this sheet conveying passage 4, an upstream side sheet guide projection part 37 for reducing a gap 21 of the sheet conveying passage 4 is formed in either one of first guide wall 18 and second guide wall 20 on a sheet conveying direction downstream side of a conveying roller 34. A downstream side sheet guide projection part 38 for reducing the gap 21 of the sheet conveying passage 4 is formed in the other of the first guide wall 18 and the second guide wall 20 on the sheet conveying direction downstream side of the upstream side sheet guide projection part 37. Distal ends 41 and 42 of the upstream side sheet guide projection part 37 and the downstream side sheet guide projection part 38 are located at position where the distal ends 41 and 42 do not cross a reference sheet conveying position 40. The upstream side sheet guide projection part 37 and the downstream side sheet guide projection part 38 have sheet guide parts 39a and 39b formed into circular arc shapes.
