摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high efficiency in cutting of a material with high ductility. SOLUTION: In a slow away insert 1, a cutting edge 2 and a breaker groove 3 are formed at a peripheral edge of a rake face, a projected portion 4 is formed at an opposite corresponding portion of the cutting edge 2 with the breaker groove 3 held between the cutting edges, and an intersection of both side portions is used as a nose portion 5. A cross-sectional shape in a thickness direction which halves the nose portion 5 is set as shown in the following (a) to (f). (a) The breaker groove 3 is constituted by a cutting edge side inclined portion 6, a flat groove bottom portion 7, and a projection side inclined portion 9 which connects the groove bottom portion 7 to the projected portion 4, and is connected to the groove bottom portion 7 on a first arc face 8 in a gently-sloping manner. (b) An angleαx1 of the groove bottom portion 7 with the cutting edge side inclined portion 6 is set to be 16 to 18 degrees. (c) An angleαx2 of the projection side inclined portion 9 with a perpendicular of the groove bottom portion 7 is set to be 29 to 31 degrees. (d) Lx3 is set to be 0.53 to 0.57 mm. (e) A width Lx2 of the groove bottom portion 7 is made narrower than a width Lx1 of the cutting edge side inclined portion 6. (f) A height Lx4 is set to be 0.29 to 0.31 mm.
