PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To verify pressure relief performance without impairing a lightning arrestor characteristic, in a pressure relief test of electrifying an inside of a lightning arrestor with a large current. SOLUTION: This device for pressure relief test of lightning arrestor has a large-current source transformer 6 connected to the first alternating current source 1, a high-voltage source transformer 10 connected to the second alternating current source 2, a protection breaker 4 and a feed switch 5 connected in series to a low-voltage winding 6a of the large-current source transformer 6 and the alternating current source 1, a protection breaker 8 and a feed switch 9 connected in series to a low-voltage winding 10a of the high-voltage source transformer 10 and the alternating current source 2, a lightning arrestor-to-be-tested connecting wire 35 for connecting a lightning arrestor 3 to be tested in parallel to the high-voltage winding 6b and the high-voltage winding 10b, and an auxiliary breaker 12 connected in series to a current detector 13 for detecting a current flowing through the high-voltage winding 10b and the high-voltage winding 6b.
