METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSESSING SERVICE PERFORMANCE

Method and apparatus for enabling assessment of the performance of an IP service consumed or utilised by means of a user terminal (200). When a service trigger is received, the user terminal measures (2:1) a predefined service performance indicator according to a predefined measurement procedure. The performance indicator reflects the user experience when consuming the IP service. When the measurement has been completed, the user terminal reports (2:2) measurement results to a measurement controller (210) in a service message sent from the user terminal in connection with the IP service. Thereby, the performance of an IP service as experienced by the user can be assessed without requiring any network-based measurements.
