The device guides air to a side of a windshield wiper (1) with a spring rail (2) for accommodation of a wiper rubber element (3). The wiper has a spoiler (4) arranged on the spring rail. The spoiler is provided with a deflector (5) arranged lateral to the spoiler. The deflector has impressions (6) along an outer edge of the deflector. The impressions are located at regular distances, where the impressions are designed to be geometrically rectangular and round. The impressions are arranged downstream to the deflector in the wiper.
