<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a multi-phase electric motor, generating a PWM signal on the basis of a saw tooth signal and highly accurately detecting a current value of each phase using a single current detector. <P>SOLUTION: The controller includes: a switching number determination section for determining whether or not the conducting number of the upper arm switching element is an even number or an odd number if the current detectability determination section determines that the current is not detectable; and a phase shift means for shifting the predetermined phase PWM signal by a predetermined amount in a predetermined shifting direction if the switching number determination section determines that the number of the upper arm switching element is an even number and shifting the predetermined PWM signal by a predetermined amount in a reverse direction, or shifting the phase of a PWM signal having the maximum duty from among PWM signals in each of phases by a predetermined amount in a predetermined shift direction and shifting the phase of the PWM signal having the smallest duty by a predetermined amount in a reverse direction if the switching number determining section determines that it is an odd number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
