<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly remove, in a simple configuration, developer remaining on a developing roller after development. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes a developer carrier that rotates while holding developer on its surface, and an electricity removal member that removes developer in contact with developer held on the developer carrier. In the developing device, the developer carrier has a rotating section that does not hold developer thereon. The developing device has an electricity removal contact piece provided with a mounting portion and a sliding portion for electrically connecting the electricity removal member and the rotating section.
