PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of correcting certainly trapezoidal distortion produced in a projected image. SOLUTION: The projector includes a projector body 3 and a remote controller 4. The remote controller 4 includes an earth magnetism sensor for detecting an azimuth angle of a device side data line B2 and a transmitting means for transmitting azimuth angle information concerning the azimuth angle of the device side data line B2 to the projector body 3. The projector body 3 includes an earth magnetism sensor for detecting an azimuth angle of a body side data line B1 and a control means. The control means includes a relative angle calculation portion and an image correction portion. The relative angle calculation portion calculates a relative angle between the azimuth angle of the body side data line B1 and the azimuth angle of the device side data line B2 based on the azimuth angle of the body side data line B1 and the azimuth angle information.
