PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary type developing device that is capable of suppressing unexpected collection of developer associated with rotating operation with simple constitution inexpensively. SOLUTION: The developing device includes a developing roll 190, a first developer storing part 193a having a first stirring and conveying member 195 and storing two-component developer so as to supply to the developing roll 190, and a second developer storing part 193b having a second stirring and conveying member 197 and storing the two-component developer to circulate between the first developer storing part 193a and the second developer storing part 193b. A developer discharge port 205 having a shutter member 205S formed to be opened/shut by gravity is formed on the upper surface of the end in a shaft direction of the second developer storing part 193b, and a developer discharge suppressing means suppressing opening operation of the shutter member 205S by movement of the developer associated with the rotation of a rotating body 19 is formed at a portion corresponding to the shutter member 205S of the second stirring and conveying member 197.
