PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage booster circuit which can output a high voltage DC power stably and continuously, and to provide a highly reliable high performance power supply system comprising the voltage booster circuit. SOLUTION: The voltage booster circuit 1 has a switching element (switch) 2, a capacitor 3, a diode 4 and a reactor 5. The reactor 5 has a dust core 51, and a wire (coil) 52 wound spirally along the outer circumference of the dust core 51. The dust core 51 consists of a pressure molding produced by binding soft magnetic powder 510 composed of amorphous metal with a binder 511. Switching frequency of the switching element 2 is set in the range of 5-100 kHz. The voltage booster circuit 1 is arranged to boost the voltage of a DC power supply in continuous oscillation mode regardless of the magnitude of a load and to apply the boosted voltage to the load.
