PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference detector of a machine tool capable of determining interference with a virtual three-dimensional model in a short processing time in order to detect occurrence of interference with the virtual three-dimensional model before occurrence of interference in an actual machine tool. SOLUTION: This interference detector replaces the form of a movable object in the virtual three-dimensional model and a fixed object around the movable object from a detailed form based on polygon data into a simplified form in a simplified form replacement part 46A. When the distance between the movable object and the fixed object, or the distance between the movable object and another movable object which were replaced in the simplified form is below an interference threshold value, an interference possibility determination part 46E determines that there may be the possibility of interference. When it is determined that there may be the possibility of interference, a detailed interference determination part 46F returns the form to the detailed form based on the polygon data and determines whether or not there may be interference.
