PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm device comprising an EC element, which is capable of preventing the leakage of light. SOLUTION: The EC elements 14a to 14c of a second member 12 are arranged on the back of coloring impossible areas 16a to 16c formed between the EC elements 13a to 13d of a first member 11. When adjacent EC elements in the first member 11 are colored, the EC element of the second member 12 located at the back of the coloring impossible area formed between the adjacent EC elements is colored.
