The station has an extraction device (TR) that positions an initial point on segmentation by a positioning unit (POS), and propagates an edge within the segmentation using a propagation unit (PROP). A label unit (LAB) labels the ramifications, when a test unit (TES) detects an unconnected edge. A path tracing device (TRA) traces a path from the final points detected by identification unit (IDE) and the initial point. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of extracting a path (b) a computer program product for extracting a path.
