SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING VIDEO PROGRAM INFORMATION OR VIDEO PROGRAM CONTENT TO USER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide program information or at least a portion of copy of a program to a user in a system for broadcasting a video program to the user having a display.

SOLUTION: In the system, a controller 14 receives an input signal which represents a request to summary information concerning the program having a beginning and is generated during broadcasting. The controller 14 responds to the input signal and provides a summary of the program from the beginning of the program to the time of input signal through the display 12. Furthermore, the controller monitors a term during which the display to alternatively begin during the broadcasting is tuned to the broadcasting of the program. The controller is used so as to provide at least a portion of copy of the program through the display when the term is beyond prescribed threshold value time.
