PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of checking video contents of other video source, while continuing to watch the presently watched program. SOLUTION: A display screen of the display device contains a first area to display a first video content and a second area to display icons for selecting a second video content different from the first video content. The selection icons are for a plurality of image sources that offer the video contents and are used to select one or more broadcast networks and video recording medium. The broadcast networks are one or more of terrestrial wave broadcasting, BS broadcasting, and CS broadcasting. The image recording medium is a hard disk drive (HDD) which is built in the display device, or is a removable HDD which can be inserted and removed from the display device.
