PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control power supply by equipment on the supply side according to presence/absence of connection of equipment on the power receiving side in a communication system by which transmission is performed by superimposing data on power supply. SOLUTION: The equipment on the supply side compares a predetermined piece of data for detection transmitted from a modulation transmitting part which modulates the data and transmits the modulated data to the equipment on the power receiving side with data turned up and received by the equipment on the power receiving side obtained by a demodulation receiving part which receives and demodulates data from the equipment on the power receiving side by a comparison part, when the received data is the one in which a predetermined frequency band in the transmitted data for detection is prevented as a result of comparison, superimposes the result on the data to supply power to the equipment on the power receiving side, and when the equipment on the power receiving side is not connected, supply of power from the equipment on the supply side to the equipment on the power receiving side is inhibited.
