PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downsized portable wireless device with a good design property while obtaining high antenna performance in two states of vertical opening and horizontal opening, in the portable wireless device having structure which is openable and closable in two vertical and horizontal directions. SOLUTION: The portable wireless device is constituted so that, while being that an upper casing 100 and a lower casing 200 are vertically opened, reinforced sheet metal 101, a linking part 300, a first power supply 202 and a ground pattern on a circuit board 201 operate as a dipole antenna by connecting the first power supply 202 to a wireless circuit 205 by a first high frequency switch 204, and while being that the upper casing 100 and the lower casing 200 are horizontally opened, the reinforced sheet metal 101, a second power supply 206, and the ground pattern on the circuit board 201 operate as the dipole antenna by connecting the second power supply 206 to the wireless circuit 205 by the first high frequency switch 204.
