PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device having a substrate held by such a structure that a connector portion is not influenced by external force. SOLUTION: The projection display device includes an image display element, a main substrate 1, a DMD substrate 3 on which the image display element is mounted, and a metal optical engine base 6. The main substrate 1 and the DMD substrate 3 are electrically connected to each other via connectors 4, 5. The main substrate 1 is fixed to the optical engine base 6 via a first screw-receiving portion 9 of the optical engine base 6. The DMD substrate 3 is fixed to the optical engine base 6 via a screw. The ground of the main substrate 1 is electrically connected to the optical engine base 6 via the first screw receiving portion 9. The ground of the DMD substrate 3 is electrically connected to the optical engine base 6 via the screw. The first screw receiving portion 9 is located near the DMD substrate 3.
