PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display element having a functional layer of a uniform membrane thickness. SOLUTION: The organic EL display element is provided with a substrate, an anode electrode formed on a substrate, an organic EL layer formed on the anode electrode, a cathode electrode formed on the organic EL layer, and a bank regulating regions of the organic EL layer. The bank in the organic EL element contains fluoroplastic and has an incline of a fluorine concentration along a direction of the thickness of the bank, and the fluorine concentration at a peak of the bank is higher than that at a bottom surface of the bank.
