PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrically-driven construction machinery which enables operations to be performed without reference to the presence or absence of electric power equipment and without being restricted by electric power capable of being supplied to its maximum by the electric power equipment. SOLUTION: An electric motor 12 is provided as a driving means for a hydraulic pump 6 in the upper machinery 2 of the construction machinery. The electric power is supplied to the electric motor 12 from an external alternator 19 via a power leveling unit 16 placed on a movable truck 15. The power leveling unit 16 is supplied with the electric power from the alternator 19 via an input side power cable 18, limits its peak power to a predetermined upper limit value so as to level it, and supplies the electric power to a construction machinery body via an output side power cable 17. The power leveling unit 16 converts an alternate current from the alternator 19 to a direct current, charges the electric power into a battery, and supplies DC power from the battery to the electric motor 12 of the construction machinery body or supplies AC power to the electric motor 12 by converting the DC power to the AC power.
