PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release agent which can efficiently form a release layer by a simple technique of co-extrusion, which, even when made into a wide roll, enables the roll to be unwound without trouble and which can restrain the drop of adhesion even if stored for a long period of time in the form of the roll, and to provide a surface protection film. SOLUTION: The release agent contains a thermoplastic silicone elastomer having a polar bonding which is≤0.6 wt.% in the n-hexane extraction amount and an antioxidant.
