The invention provides a pool cleaner device (10) which includes a head assembly (12) overhanging a pool cleaner disk (22) mounted operatively to rotate on a foot assembly (14). The device (10) includes a rotatable bearing element (28) mounted on the head assembly such that it protrudes downwardly therefrom and is positioned to be the point of first contact with the pool cleaner disk (22) when the pool cleaner disk is urged towards the overhanging portion of the head assembly (12). Accordingly, should the pool cleaner disk (22) be deflected, e.g. as a result of coming into contact with an inclined surface of a pool, the first point of contact with the head assembly (12) is the bearing member (28) which accordingly permits relative rotation between the disk (22) and the remainder of the pool cleaner device (10) which facilitates steering of the device (10) and reduces the risk that it may become stuck in a particular area of the pool. |
