PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a site removed as a fixed echo even if a virtual image due to the fixed echo is removed. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 is provided with a fixed echo removal section 5 which removes a fixed echo contained in a receiving signal supplied from a transceiving beam former 4, and a detection section 6 which detects an envelop on the receiving signal whose fixed echo is removed, and generates fixed echo removed B mode image data of a predetermined time phase where the virtual image due to the fixed echo is removed. Meanwhile, the detection section 6 detects the envelop on the receiving signal whose fixed echo is not removed and generates fixed-echo unremoved B mode image data of a predetermined time phase whose fixed echo is not removed. A monitor 8 parallel or superimposedly displays the B mode image based on the fixed echo removed B mode image data and the B mode image based on the fixed echo unremoved B mode image data.
