摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device highly accurately controlling a distance between a head and a magnetic disk at a high land without reducing a rated rotational speed. SOLUTION: The gimbals 52 of an arm 5 includes upper and lower plates 53 and 54 parallel to a magnetic disk 3, and the lower plate 54 is made of a material having a linear expansion coefficient greater than that of the upper plate 53. A heated wire 10 is disposed to heat the two plates 53 and 54. When a current altitude exceeds a reference altitude, a current is supplied to the heated wire 10 so that the plates 53 and 54 are thermally expanded. The lower plate 54 is more expanded by the difference in the linear expansion coefficients, so that the tip of the gimbals 52 is bent in a direction away from the magnetic disk 3, and a head 9 disposed in the tip of the gimbals 52 is separated from the magnetic disk 3.
