The object is to provide a solid support for achieving the isolation of a cell or the extraction/purification of a nucleic acid in a safe, simple and efficient manner in a high yield in the genetic testing for determining the presence or absence of the infection with a pathogenic bacterium. Thus, disclosed is a solid support to which a cell is to be bound, which comprises a carrier and a polypeptide that is capable of binding to a glycolipid containing mycolic acid and that is immobilized on the surface of the carrier. Also disclosed is a solid support to which a nucleic acid is to be bound, which comprises a carrier and a polypeptide that is capable of binding to a nucleic acid and that is immobilized on the surface of the carrier.
