<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Li-Ni compound oxide particle powder for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has a large charge/discharge capacity and an excellent thermal stability at a time of charging. <P>SOLUTION: In a Li-Ni compound oxide in which a composition of a secondary particle as a core is Li<SB>x1</SB>Ni<SB>1-y1-z1-w1</SB>Co<SB>y1</SB>Mn<SB>z1</SB>M<SB>w1</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein, 0.9≤x1≤1.3, 0.1≤y1≤0.3, 0.0≤z1≤0.3, 0≤w1≤0.1, and M is at least one kind of metals selected from Al, Fe) and an average secondary particle diameter is 5-20 μm, a composition of a surface or its neighborhood is Li<SB>x2</SB>Ni<SB>1-y2-z2-w2</SB>Co<SB>y2</SB>Mn<SB>z2</SB>M<SB>w2</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein, 0.9≤x2≤1+z2, 0≤y2≤0.33, 0.15<z2≤0.5, 0≤w2≤0.1, and M is at least one kind of metals selected from Al, Fe, Mg, Zr and Ti), and the Li-Ni compound oxide particle powder for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery has the above compound oxide or is coated with the above compound oxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
