PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently detect packaging failure of a package product in which an item is sealed with a frail film. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a conveyor that conveys the package product, along a guide used to restrain vibrations of the package product; an air nozzle that jets compressed air to the surface of the packaged product from a vertical direction, relative to the product surface parallel to the conveying direction; and a sensor that detects a film inflated to at least a predetermined height from the surface of the package product with the compressed air jetted from the air nozzle. The inspection device can further include an ejecting section that ejects the defective product from the conveyor, based on a failure detection signal from the sensor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
