PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control terminal, an information acquiring apparatus, an information providing apparatus, an information providing system, an information providing method, and a program, which can utilize program meta information efficiently and can provide the program meta information effectively. SOLUTION: A commander 100 has: a program identification information acquiring part 102 which acquires program identification information for designating a program to be viewed using a receiving terminal 200; a channel selection controller 104 which remote-controls a channel selection process by the receiving terminal based on the program identification information; a scenario information acquiring part 106 which acquires scenario information included in electronic content guide information related to the program to be viewed from an ECG server 300 based on the program identification information; a display 108 which displays the scenario information related to the program to be viewed; and a display controller 110 which can control the display so as to change a display state of the scenario information related to the program to be viewed depending on the display state of the scenario information on the receiving terminal based on predetermined setting information or predetermined operation information.
