PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sealing optical fiber unit with which an optical fiber and a housing are completely sealed in an optical fiber unit in which an end of an optical fiber mounted on a metallic housing is used as a light projection part or a light receiving part. SOLUTION: A second resin having an elasticity lower than that of a first resin which is to be filled between the circumferential face of the optical fiber and the housing is applied in the region surrounding the part at which the end face of the optical fiber is positioned in the housing, the optical fiber is positioned in the housing, and the first resin is filled between the circumferential face of the optical fiber and the housing including a resin layer formed of the second resin after the second resin is solidified.
