PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material capable of exhibiting excellent sealing performance by surely preventing permeation of a refrigerant, and excellent in assembly work efficiency. SOLUTION: In the sealing material for an O-ring 30 or the like, a fabric 33 composed of fiber of a refrigerant impermeable material, for example, metal or ceramics, is a core 31, and a surface of the core 31 is impregnated with elastomer, for example, rubber or resin, and thus, an elastomer layer 32 is formed.
